14 day Change of Mind Return Policy

Our 14 day change of mind return policy is in addition to your consumer law rights (consumer guarantees). 

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you change your mind, you may return unused security cameras, NVR’s and security kits within 14 days of the delivery date for a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a change of mind return the items must be in original, new condition with undamaged original packaging. Once we receive your returned item(s), we will inspect them to ensure that they meet our return policy requirements. We reserve the right to reject returns that don’t meet our change of mind return policy.

Return postage/insurance costs are to be covered by the purchaser. Spy Monkey will not be responsible for returned items being damaged or lost in transit. We recommend using a tracked delivery method to ensure your item arrives safe and sound.

If the item(s) meet our policy, we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 5-7 business days. Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to appear on your account depending on your financial institution.

Our change of mind return policy applies specifically to security cameras, NVR’s and security kits, it does not apply to accessories such as cable, mounts, junction boxes, SD cards, UPS’s, monitors, data cabinets, switches & POE injectors, wireless networking devices and hard drives.

Consumer Law rights

In addition to our return policy you are protected by consumer law. If you are a consumer as defined in the ACL (Australian consumer law), the following notice applies to you: ‘Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.’

Warranties against defects

Certain products may come with a manufacturer’s warranty. The manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to but may overlap with any rights and remedies you may have under applicable law, including any Consumer Guarantees.

Under this warranty, if any goods purchased from Spy Monkey are found to be faulty or defective, we will repair or replace the goods free of charge. The warranty covers defects in materials or broken components that affect the normal operation of the product.

The warranty is contingent upon normal use of the product for which it was designed. It does not cover damage to products resulting from incorrect installation, negligence, water damage, vandalism or power surges. Warranty also does not cover damage caused by the product being subjected to conditions outside acceptable operating conditions as specified in the user manual. Be aware that altered, modified or defaced products may forfeit warranty.

Our brands warranty periods are as follows:

Dahua security cameras, recorders and intercoms are covered by 3 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty. 

Dahua Wizmind series cameras and recorders are covered by 5 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Uniview security cameras and recorders are covered by 3 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Uniarch security cameras and recorders are covered by 3 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

VIP Vision security cameras and recorders are covered by 4 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Axis security cameras and recorders are covered by 5 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Hanwha security cameras and recorders are covered by 3 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Bosch fixed cameras and recorders are covered by 3 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Western Digital Purple hard drives are covered by 2 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Witek devices are covered by 3 years back-to-base manufacturer warranty.

Return Shipping Costs
Kindly note that shipping costs associated with returning a product to Spy Monkey are the responsibility of the customer. However, if the product is confirmed to be faulty, we will reimburse the customer for the cost of inbound shipping. For warranty-related repairs or replacements, we offer complimentary outbound express shipping to ensure timely delivery.

Spy Monkey will not be responsible for returned items being damaged or lost in transit. We recommend using a tracked delivery method to ensure your item arrives safe and sound.

Returns Centre
To initiate a warranty or change of mind return, first visit our return centre here.

The Return Process

  1. Go to the Returns Centre and enter your order number (for example #SM1234) and your email address that was used to place the order. Select the relevant item from your order.
  2. Select the reason for the return and provide an explanation, along with any relevant snapshots. For faulty items we will need the serial number of the product.
  3. Our team will review the request in accordance with our return policy and may require additional information or troubleshooting for faulty products.
  4. Upon approval, we will provide an RMA number and return shipping address. Customers are responsible for return postage costs.
  5. After receiving the return, we will inspect it and grant a refund for change of mind returns or provide a repair/replacement for faulty products. Spy Monkey will ship replacements free of charge with express shipping.
