Consumer Guarantees

As an Australian-based company, we strictly adhere to the consumer law rights outlined by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). This statement aims to inform our valued customers about their rights, how they apply to consumers and the distinction between consumer guarantees and warranty.

Consumer Law Rights in Australia:

The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) protects the rights of consumers and sets out certain guarantees that must be met by businesses when selling goods and services. Under the Law, these consumer guarantees cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Differences between Consumer Guarantees and Warranty:

Consumer guarantees are separate and distinct from warranty. While a warranty is a voluntary promise made by the manufacturer or seller, consumer guarantees are imposed by law and cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. These guarantees ensure that the goods you purchase from us are of acceptable quality, fit for their intended purpose, match their description, and have a reasonable lifespan.

Limits of Consumer Guarantees:

We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind. But you can choose a refund or exchange if an item has a major problem. This is when the item: 

  • has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it 
  • is unsafe 
  • is significantly different from the sample or description 
  • doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can’t be easily fixed. 

Alternatively, you can choose to keep the item and we will compensate you for any drop in value. If the problem is not major, we will repair the item within a reasonable time. If it is not repaired in a reasonable time you can choose a refund or replacement.
